Suggestions please - what can Romy be short for?

Hi, I really like the name Romy for a girl. DP likes it too but only if it can be short for a longer name. He likes Ramona or Romana but I'm not convinced by either of them. I have read that Romy was originally short for Rosemary but this isn't an option for us. Please send me your suggestions!

Just Romy is absolutely fine. I know one, who works in a professional role and it hasn't held her back.

Well, I obviously need to say that Romey/Romy is a name in its own right Smile. But I think Romilly is lovely, had not heard that before.

I know a Romy short for Romaine. Nobody seems to have heard of this name but I know 2 people - one Romayne in her 20s and Romaine age 6. Quite nice, I think.

(Her brother's name was "Bellini" btw!)

Oops! Didn't read that you can't 'do' Rosemary.

Romilda, Ramona, and I do like a pp's suggestion of Rose-Amy.

Rosemary (my own DM's name). Cousin couldn't pronounce 'Aunty Rosemary' as a child & it came out 'Auntie Romee' (different spelling but you get the drift.

She could be Rosa Amy Smith, known as Romy? Or Rose Amy? Rosanna or Roseanne, with a bit of poetic licence?

I think Romy on it's own is classic enough for a birth cert.
