Cressida?

I'm an avid reader of this forum as I (like many others on here) love discussing baby names but this name is baffling me.

Before Prince Harry dated a girl named Cressida it was rarely suggested as a baby name. Now it pops up on every girl's name thread on here? It will be associated with C Bonas (I think that's her name?) so I just don't get its sudden popularity. Is it because it's a 'fresh' name or do people genuinely like it? For those who like it - have you always liked it or is it a recent thing?

I'm so curious about this.

Always associated with shakespeare for me and a girl I went to college with. Lovely name, wou, d love to use it myself. Not sure dh would go for it though.

I love the way it sounds. I can't say I was very aware of it before Cressida Bonas hit the papers. I would never call a daughter that because we live in a staunchly working class area.

Fun Fact: There were 9 Cressidas born in 2012.

The only Cressida I have heard of before Harry's girlfriend was a character in Viz. Vaire posh.

I've been toying with it for bump but don't think I could go through with it.

It's a lovely name but as you say there'd be an association and there's constant shouts of her having a horribly pretentious name that I would t want to lumber my daughter with
