I am pregnant with my first, we don't know sex yet but have a boy's name that we're agreed on. What do you think of Beatrix for a girl?

Love Bea as a nickname for both though.

This is on my potential name list as well with a nn of Bea. But can't decide between Beatrix and Beatrice. DS is Alex so I don't know if it would be weird or cool to have two children with the /ix/ sound in their names.

I'm convinced. Agree with pp about Trixie though, not a fan. That'd be my only concern. I can't beleive it's unanimous!

Trixie is a name only suitable for a small yappy dog with a bow around its neck.

I prefer Beatrice, but Beatrix is still nice. Don't like the potential nickname Trixie though.

names.darkgreener.com/#beatr shows the stats for Beatrix and Beatrice. Neither of them are in the Top 100 in England and Wales.
