Fleur or Olwyn

Just that really Fleur or Olwyn. Months until we need to decide but these were our girl choices when we had our little boy. What do people think?

Fleur is just so beautiful.

Olwyn, very traditional Welsh, but not to my taste. If you are looking for a Welsh name how about Seren or Carys?

Oh I also prefer the wen spelling...thank you for those of you who have explained it!

I am not welsh so didn't know the wheel thing but agree wen looks better.

Olwen is the usual spelling for females IME.

I much prefer that to fleur (which gets autocorrected to flour!)

If you're thinking of the welsh name is it Olwen not Olwyn. Typically welsh girl names end in the feminie "wen" and boys names in the masculine "wyn"". Think Eirwen and Eirwyn, Carwen and Carwyn etc.

Sorry to be pedantic and apologies if this comes across as rude but please don't use Olwyn with a y. Not only is it incorrect it is also the welsh word for "wheel"!

I prefer Fleur but if you have to use Olwyn I think it looks better spelled as Olwen.

But Olwyn means wheel in welsh. Olwen is prettier imo and because of the wheel thing too

Olwen was my Granny's name. I think it is really unique. She was vehemently Welsh, are you Welsh?
