My son's name means "Mum got the casting vote and all the names Dad liked were wrong" Grin

Surf25 · 20/06/2014 14:14

jadzia I think one of my dds must share a name with your dd? can I be nosy and ask if your son is Theodore? We are expecting dc3 and I am wondering about this name...

TheScottishPlay · 20/06/2014 12:49

DS- Dark haired warrior. He has red hair but I can vouch for his warriorness.

littlejohnnydory · 20/06/2014 12:42

I don't know what the 2 dd's names mean - might have to look it up. DS means "faithful warrior".

soontobeslendergirl · 20/06/2014 12:31

No1 son - A crag or rock - sort of, he is bloody huge and very reliable :)
No2 son - the dark one - getting there, he was dark, went blond and is getting darker by the day - personality wise, he has the highest of highest and the lowest of lows :)

indie123 · 20/06/2014 09:52

Noble and kind it's also apparently derived from the name of a Greek flower

Great
Exalted One
and the third one is named after a God from an ancient mythology.

Might explain their high opinions of themselves!

olaflikeswarmhugs · 20/06/2014 00:01

DDs means bright and shining

DSs means overthrower

Dd I'd very bright intellectually but somewhat lacking in self esteem so I think we need to work on the shining part .

Ds is a feisty boisterous little rebel I could definitely see him being a wee renegade Grin

xalyssx · 19/06/2014 23:30

Name of God - garden of holly
And
Strong name of God - Angel

Noggie · 19/06/2014 23:17

Dd1 brightness
Dd2 lady- although not showing any signs of living up to her name!

BlueStarsAtNight · 19/06/2014 23:12

Stoney clearing, and desire/protection/helmet.

Well, he likes clearing stones from their rightful place in the garden, and he certainly follows his own desires.....like most 2 year olds!

Floggingmolly · 19/06/2014 23:11

Ds2 - Gift from God
Ds1 - Supplanter (!)
Dd - From the laurel tree

Xcountry · 19/06/2014 23:08

Red King,
moon goddess of fertility,

Singlesuzie · 19/06/2014 23:01

Singlesuzie · 19/06/2014 22:55

MrsBungle · 19/06/2014 22:44

singlesuzie it's Cameron - Scottish. There are a couple of crooked noses in my family - luckily ds has missed out!

steppemum · 19/06/2014 22:41

Tang - I think our ds have same name.

ds - laughter - yeah he has always have a good sense of humour
dd1 - grace and bringer of light - she is my gentle one, so I can see this might be her
dd2 - meaning is uncertain, but she was named after a woman in the bible who is a strong leader. She is.

Cluesue · 19/06/2014 22:35

DD1-Gift from god
DD2-poet

Tangfasticlady · 19/06/2014 22:31

DS - he who laughs.
DD - lame or persevering.

JadziaSnax · 19/06/2014 22:30

DS - gift from god. Definitely right as we were told that we'd be unlikely to have children naturally.
DD - wisdom. She's a toddler so not accurate yet Grin

weyayechickenpie · 19/06/2014 22:23

Dds name is Freya norse goddess of love, beauty and fertility . She is an absolute monster child but she is very beautiful.

rootypig · 19/06/2014 22:19

Alive.

Which is bittersweet as she is named for my beautiful aunt, who left us too soon.

Maybe it can mean that everything lives on...

DramaAlpaca · 19/06/2014 22:17

DS3's middle name means 'God has added another son'.

So that's why I chose it Smile

TheBookofRuth · 19/06/2014 22:17

Life Rebel.

Yep, pretty much sums up DD!
