Stuck with baby girls names

I thought it would be easier choosing baby names! My OH is Spanish so I need a name that works in England and in Spain. I liked Tabitha but it sounds strange when he says it. The other one I like is Gabriela. He likes Caroline (which I feel is old fashioned) and Africa (which seems chavvy to me!). Please help. x

I think most long-ish names ending in an a sound vaguely European actually:

I love Gabriela (it's one of DD1's middle names).

Her and DD2 are half Brazilian and their other middle names are Giovanna, Fernanda and Pietra if any of those fit the bill for you.

I'm not keen on Tabitha or Caroline. I do actually like Africa though.

How about Carolina - I agree Caroline sounds old-fashioned, but Carolina is very pretty and works here too. I like Gabriela too, very pretty.

We have a Maya - we wanted a name that worked almost anywhere for a number of reasons. No Spanish in our family, but it seems to be a name that is used and known in most European countries from East to South.

Isobel, Sophia and Christina spring to mind for me but I like old fashioned names too. We have a similar dilemma as we live in a medditterranean country and have done lots of research into names that work in both too. DH suggested Gabriela for us too I like that one the best from the ones you've mentioned.
