Stuck with baby girls names

Inglesita · 17/06/2014 16:58

I thought it would be easier choosing baby names! My OH is Spanish so I need a name that works in England and in Spain. I liked Tabitha but it sounds strange when he says it. The other one I like is Gabriela. He likes Caroline (which I feel is old fashioned) and Africa (which seems chavvy to me!). Please help. x

Olivia?
Alice/Alicia?
Lucia?

I love Olivia so much I rather hoped dc2 would be a girl so I could use it. But DS he was (and obviously I would not swap him for a zillion Olivias!)

Paloma?

williaminajetfighter · 19/06/2014 08:58

I've got a Carmen and love the fact that it's not a girly name, is quite unisex. Go for it!

Alita7 · 19/06/2014 08:30

I have Spanish family and my favourite Spanish names are Natalia, Isadora, Marina, Clara and Nicoletta.

Carlotta?

Or Letizia (or variations thereof) like the new queen?

I vote for Catalina, I think it's beautiful, and I like Katie as a nn

escape93 · 19/06/2014 03:55

What about Ledicia?

Unknown but pronounceable in the UK and just beautiful.

findingherfeet · 18/06/2014 23:46

Gabriella is beautiful! It's definitely high on my 'if I ever have a third' list Grin Africa on the other hand is dreadful!

How about Penelope? I'm biased because it's my DD's name but presumably works in Spanish if it works for Penelope Cruz..?

mrsnec · 18/06/2014 06:36

Africa is a bit bad but it's not just that, some of the others on your list and on here are just so much better!

OpiesOldLady · 17/06/2014 21:48

Oooh, I like Catalina!

Africa is pretty bad IMO.

Inglesita · 17/06/2014 20:54

Wow, thanks guys, you've certainly given me food for thought. Do we all agree that "Africa" is chavvy or is that just me?
