What name would you put with this surname?

Surname will be Lee, I'm really struggling to find boy names I actually like that don't roll in to the surname. I'd ideally like a middle name as think it breaks it up a bit.

I think I like quite hippyish names or old style. Names that have been vetoed or used that we like are
Frederick
Elijah
Jacob
Theodore

So please, oh wise MNers, help me find a name I love!

I think I would go for a 3 syllable name to give some balance.

RoseberryTopping · 15/06/2014 21:27

I also had a little Grin at the suggestion of Peter Lee!

I'm liking Dominic and Rowan, don't know about the rest though, I think I'm too fussy but nothing stands out for me. I do quite like Alexander but there is a little boy who's horrible to my son at school called Alex and it really puts me off it. Is that silly to discount a perfectly good name because of that?

Think of the nicknames of longer names:
William Lee - Will Lee
Frederick Lee - Freddy Lee
Alfred Lee - Alfie Lee

I would choose a 2 syllable name that will unlikely get shortened:
Reuben Lee
Quentin Lee
Marcus Lee

YellowStripe · 14/06/2014 12:07

I second Alexander - I know two men called Alex Lee.

NoglenTilLykke · 14/06/2014 12:02

Frederick Lee sounds good. Long name+short name.

Not Bruce ...

BlueChampagne · 13/06/2014 23:40

I think the world could bear another Laurence (Laurie) Lee. Otherwise Conrad?

VodIsGod · 13/06/2014 22:21

My maiden name was Lee and I know it's a hard surname to add names to without them sounding like adverbs...

You need names with hard sounds at the end like:

David
John
James
Nathan
Benjamin
Marcus
Henry

Not Frank or Kai Grin
