Someone I know has just called their baby this, and I think it's so cute, but a few people looked a bit when they heard the name. Just wondering if it's generally popular on MN?

I really like it too, we discounted it because my husband can't say it without seething. I also like Meg from Margaret.

I love it.

It's feisty and down to earth. Nothing frilly or princessy about a Maggie.

DD might well gave been one were it not for Thatcher. My dad would never have coped with that connection.

I love it!

Think it's really strong and feisty. Maggie could fix an engine, bottle up some homemade sloe gin and tell a hilarious anecdote all at the same time.

The only dark shadow on the name is that Maggie, recently deceased of this parish.
