I've been thinking about this name recently and I quite like it. How would you pronounce it on first glance? Jo-hannah, Jo-anna, Yo-hah-nah? and what do you think of it? Thanks! Smile

Lovely name. I'd also pronounce it as Jo-Hanna - maybe even slightly skipping over the 'O' so it comes out more as Juh-Hanna. (I'm another one with a DD called Joanna) Smile

I wouldn't know whether to pronounce the H or not to. I think if you don't want it pronounced then Joanna is simple and beautiful on it's own.

I would pronounce it Jo-Hanna. I like it but prefer regular Joanna (full disclosure: that's my DD's name Grin )

I love it but my dd has a Dylan song as her name and ds has Dylan as a middle name!

weegiemum · 10/06/2014 18:28

Nice, but I prefer Joanna.

I like it a lot but with h in spelling I would assume a German connection.

I have a friend called this and it is pronounced Jo-Hanna. With a slightly Irish lilt.

I know a Johanna, pronounced Jo-Hannah,but usually shortened to Hannah :-) I would always go for pronouncing it Jo-Hannah.

I'd pronounce it Joanna. And it's beautiful.
