Last minute shortlist - girls!

Due any day, but having lots of name wobbles.
Sibling is Felix. Surname is v common (hence not wanting a really really popular name).

So what do you think?

Polly
Juliet
Louisa
Lara
Lois

Please be honest! (And feel free to throw in any other suggestions too!)

My order of preference would be

Lois
Juliet
Lara
Louisa
Polly

Those sound so good together!

Louisa is pretty, but I don't like the double s sound with Felix. Lara feels a bit plain. Lois, I do not like.

Yay Panda that's what I think too, but no-one seems to agree!

Bassington that's really strange, especially as DH suddenly suggested Clara yesterday out of nowhere. Can I be nosey and ask what you went for for your DS in the end? (Still don't know if this little kicker is a boy or a girl!)

I don't love Polly, but you could go all old-school and name her Mary with Polly as a nickname.

Personally I like Juliet and Lara (Larissa) better.

Thanks for your honesty re. Felix. I have been calling out names in the park (well, in my head but pretending to be at the park!) and it's a good test for names. Boys' names are so hard!

Louisa is lovely, as is Lara, so I think you're on to a winner either way.

Are you me? We like all the same names!

we would have had a Lara had DC been a girl. I like Louisa too. I was going to suggest Marianne. I also considered Honor, Clara and Fay. The only one I don't like on your list is Polly.

Love Louisa and Juliet. Polly & Lara - meh. Don't like Lois at all.
Between Louisa and Lara, I vote Louisa by a long shot

I have crossed Lois off the list!
I am beginning to accept that Polly should also be crossed off the list. (Sob)

Thank you for the other ideas. I esp like Cora, Cara and Marianne but DH isn't sure.

I think we are probably now trying to decide between Louisa (my pref) and Lara (his pref).

Felix is a great name.

Some other ideas for you.

Lara alternatives: Clara, Mara, Cara, Tara

Lois is lovely, was vetoed by my DH

Louisa alternatives: Luisa, Luella

Polly alternatives: Poppy, Peggy, Penny

Polly and Louisa are okay.

Really don't like Lois.

Louisa is lovely.

I personally prefer Holly to Polly, but like both.

Similarly I prefer the softer ending of Julianne to Juliet

I really like your list - names that people will know but that aren't overused.... Similar criteria to us when we chose! We also liked

Amber
Carla - we liked Lana but thought the hard C and extra letter made Carla less wishy washy

Annie
Or slightly more unusual

Ah nice list.. Second what thingsthatshine, have the exact same order of preference! Lara Juliet was actually our back up for dd. Also like Helena, Cleo, Elizabeth, Cecelia.
