Am 35+3 been discussing names since finding put we are expecting a boy. I have a James, which I liked but didn't love. Every name is pretty much vetoed by H. We are once again in a situation where I will end up calling our child a name I don't really love.

He is giving me 2 options really of George or William I like them but don't love them at all. IABU as I think I should get a bit of a say especially when I have had a shit pregnancy (hormones speaking!)

OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Thank you, he chose James I wanted Arthur.

I love
Oscar
Freddie
Henry
Otis
Arthur.

I don't dislike George or William I do actually like them I just wanted a name I love.

I love my H dearly but he really can be a stubborn arse.

I remember a website where you tick all the names you like and your partner ticks the ones he likes and it them shows you any that are the same.

Anyone know what it was called?

I thought it was a clever idea.

SecretWitch · 08/06/2014 18:41

Don't care for Grumpy, Sneezy is better...

Anyway, you absolutely should have a choice! Dude is not the one currently housing the baby is he?

psychicpaper · 08/06/2014 18:40

I really like Barnaby

Montsti · 08/06/2014 18:38

What are your fav names?

Fwiw I love both George and William - sorry not helpful!

Oliver
Henry/Harry
Sebastian
Thomas
Frederick
Matthew
Alexander
Benjamin
Nicholas
Samuel
Max
Joseph
Jacob - maybe a big sameish as James

I would come up with a list of 5-10 you like and try and agree on one. Personally I think you should choose seeing as he did last time!

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 08/06/2014 18:30

And what name would you pick if you had sole discretion?

ThinkIveBeenHacked · 08/06/2014 18:29

So you say No to his suggestions.

DH loves one girls name and one boys name and I hate them both. I wouldnt expect him to go with a name he hates.

We have ended up going through a baby name book seperately. Rules : allowed to write up to three names per letter of the alphabet. Any that appear on both yours and his lists go on the shortlist.

nasara · 08/06/2014 18:25

Woah, indeed!

Which names have you really liked and suggested and have been vetoed?

olivo · 08/06/2014 18:17

I was about to add that Grumpy is a fab name for a a baby ??

littlegreengloworm · 08/06/2014 18:07

Yes if he picked the last time it should be more of your say this time (I love James btw)

littlegreengloworm · 08/06/2014 18:06

No way two choices, my eye.

Go back to the drawing board.

Samuel
Oliver
Henry

Are they suitable?

VirginiaWoofs · 08/06/2014 18:04

What names do you like OP??

magpiegin · 08/06/2014 17:51

If you don't want them then say no, think of a few more and start again. You should have an equal say.

NoArmaniNoPunani · 08/06/2014 17:44

A bit of a say?! It should be an equal choice

InternetFOREVER · 08/06/2014 17:44

Why does he get to give you two options? Give him a choice of the two names you like best, which he doesn't hate. George or William could be their middle name.

SandorClegane · 08/06/2014 17:41

I thought you were considering grumpy as a baby name when I read the thread title!!!
