Finding it really hard to pick a boys name, I've got a little boy called Louie and thinking of Jayden for this one could be shortend to J or middle name will be Joseph as that's my dads name so Jayden Joseph could also be JJ. Honest opinions please :)

I have high ranking colleagues called Tracey and Darren (medicine), I'm sure if mumsnet had existed in the 70s their mums would have been warned off...

I live in the real world. And I know plenty of people who would act differently towards a Taneesha than they would to a Sophie

Maybe if we all stopped pandering to prejudices and called our children names we liked the sound of without worrying if it sounded 'suitable' for a QC we'd have a nicer society...

usual - hence why i put it in inverted commas.

Not everyone would think it was 'better'.

But you will get judged by quite lot of people if you are called Jayden.

I am not saying that is right. I am saying it will happen. And yes, I agree it will date horribly.

Clint88 - not according to the authors of Freakonomics who sent out identical CVS but with different names. The 'unique' names did not get interviews. James and John did.

People do judge about names. And they do it all over the world. Look at the crap Barack Obama gets for his name.

One Condoleezza Rice doesn't prove much. Except that she is pretty exceptional in every way.

Or Jay (another middle name)

I really don't like the alliteration of Jayden Joseph and Jayden is one of those names people love or hate- so Id prefer to avoid the angst :)
