We are having a girl, and think we have narrowed the shortlist of names down. I just thought I'd look for any constructive criticism, or ideas of similar names. Rosemary is pretty much a definite, it was my grandmothers name and DD is due around her birthday.

Evelyn Rosemary
Abigail Rosemary
Georgia Rosemary
Rosemary Grace

My niece is Evelyn and her mum is very particular about how it is said (ev-lyn rather than eve-Lynn). Do you have a preference? Will you mind if she is always called Eve or Evie?

Daisymasie · 28/05/2014 17:09

Abigail and Georgia are lovely. Not keen on Rosemary as a first name and don't like Evelyn at all.

Bowlersarm · 28/05/2014 17:10

Georgia Rosemary

Viatrix · 28/05/2014 17:22

Rosemary Grace. The other 3 are more popular, and It would be refreshing to see Rosemary as a first name.

ThatBloodyWoman · 28/05/2014 17:27

Evelyn Rosemary.

Mynewone · 28/05/2014 17:30

Georgia Rosemary is lovely

talulahbelle · 28/05/2014 17:31

Evelyn is DH's favourite, he likes the name Evie. I don't dislike it, but it's a bit popular. I also keep spotting the name Evelyn everywhere now, and it's definitely creeping into the top 50 names. His second choice is Georgia which i am really not keen on.

I like Rosemary as a 1st name, but he doesn't, he think's it too old ladyish. He's probably right, but there's a lot of nicknames we could use (Romy, Rose, Rosie) that all sound good. Abigail is my second favourite, but I'm going off it a bit.

Naming babies is so hard :/ Might have to go back to the drawing board, again.

I like Georgia

Bowlersarm · 28/05/2014 17:52

Now I like Rosemary nn Romy, that's really lovely.

Yama · 28/05/2014 17:52

I like Abigail the best. However, I love Evie as a nickname for Evelyn. Something about the full name I'm not keen on.

Georgia is ok.

What about Grace Rosemary?

Yama · 28/05/2014 17:53

Just read Bowler's post - love Romy.

Natalieh230780 · 28/05/2014 17:56

How about Rosalie as an alternative. My daughter is Matilda-rose and I wish is had chosen that now

oneboy3girls · 28/05/2014 18:02

Rosemary as a first name is simply beautiful.

oneboy3girls · 28/05/2014 18:02

Rosemary as a first name is simply beautiful.

FeelingIrie · 28/05/2014 18:05

Definitely Rosemary Grace. Lovely.

OnlyLovers · 28/05/2014 18:06

I love Rosemary, for a first name. But if you can't persuade DH then my next choice would be Abigail.

scarletforya · 28/05/2014 18:20

Abigail Rosemary

mathanxiety · 28/05/2014 18:45

I like Evelyn Rosemary and Rosemary Grace.

(Love Rosemary and also the nn Romy)

devoncreamtea · 28/05/2014 19:45

I love Rosemary Grace

Lots of options for nn's it up if she/you fancied - Rosie; Romy etc.

Second preference is Evelyn Rosemary

funnyoldonion · 28/05/2014 21:15

Rosemary Grace, beautiful x

Viatrix · 28/05/2014 21:42

Rosemary nn Romy would be great Smile

janie2 · 28/05/2014 21:53

Love Rosemary nn Romy, was on our list for dd2 but we had d's!! My fave out of your list.

PluggyMug · 28/05/2014 22:08

Rosemary or Abigail.

I'm not keen on Georgia. Evie is ubiquitous round our way, it's a pretty name but really overdone, and Evelyn reminds me of Marilyn and is dated to me.

CarriMarie · 29/05/2014 01:37

Of your choices I prefer Abigail Rosemary, but Rosalie as a first name could still be in honour of your grandma, and I like Rosie or Rose as nn.

Allalonenow · 29/05/2014 01:58

Abigail or Georgia with Rosemary as a middle name. I'm not keen on Evelyn and Eve / Evie is hugely popular ATM.

As an aside, have you thought of Romilly? Not a good match with Rosemary though I know.
