What do you think - is it a classic, or too old-fashioned?
Do you think it's usable on a child today?

How about nicknames, any suggestions other than Carrie?

My sister is Caroline - it seemed to be popular in the 80s. She is forever known as Caro.

We were going to call DS2 Caroline but obviously couldn't. Now expecting DC3 but have since moved house. The new neighbour is a Carolyn and is somewhat annoying which has put me off it even though they are different names.

Like it though and like nn Carrie. It is also a seriously unpopular name at the moment which for me is a good thing.

Caroline is beautiful. I wouldn't shorten it but Cal, Callie, Carol, Carrie are all nice nicknames imo.
