Just a bit of a poll really. Please vote for your favourite
I am not looking for more name suggestions- please only your favourite of these two- if you don't like either, that's fine but please don't slate them.

We have chosen Penelope for our DD2 due in 2 days. We need to decide on a middle name.

A sister to Ariana.

We have a one syllable last name (totally outs self)

These are VERY different names but will give you a brief reason for why we like them.

First choice: Penelope London

I know it's a little 'out there' and we really don't want to go for the whole 'Brooklyn, India, Paris' type of place name but we just think it's sounds strong and not only that, we are not originally from London but met here, made a life here, and it has significant meaning for us- we realise it might be a little 'too out there' for some and was for us at first but kind of just grew on us.

Second choice- Penelope Aurélia

We have always loved this name both feminine and masculine version (Aurelius/Aurelian)
It means 'golden' and since DD1's first name means 'silver' in Welsh (or 'holy one' Latin) I think silver and gold have a nice connection grasps at straws
But we also realise it is quite close to DD1's name in sound hence why we are considering it as a middle name.

Thanks for taking the time to read!

Adding my name to the Penelope London fans, I really like Aurelia but it doesn't flow well with Penelope. Does your surname begin with an L? That would be the only potential problem to a cool name like this.

Graciejoylove8 · 30/05/2014 12:37

I think Penelope London flows better. The other would be too many syllables perhaps.

BabyLove00 · 30/05/2014 12:16

Another one who's surprised themselves by leaning towards Penelope London throughout this thread. Fab name! Hope she makes an appearance very soon.

P.S. Wouldn't have a clue about the Kardashian link and would be more likely to hoik up my judgeypants for anyone who did than worry about your DD's "out there" middle name!

Aurelia.

Penelope London is Very similar to Penelope Scotland and I'd think you'd got the idea from the Kardashians.

It may not bother you in your mind, but my friend had a Harper S middle name a year before the Beckhams, but still gets 'oh like the Beckhams!' Almost every day.

3 more votes for London Grin thanks!

Well I'm due today and I'm still pregnant Confused I don't remember how torturous this was with DD.

I feel like I want to cry actually. Ok admittedly I have been crying... And laying in bed not bothered to do anything because I'm so unbelievably demotivated and over being pregnant.

Come on Penny! Get out! Confused

Penelope London is fab! It works better (IMO) with Penelope and is really different but not in a weird way... I'd love that name :-) I love the name Aurelia but I don't think it works with Penelope as well... Great choices!

Nunyabiz · 26/05/2014 12:55

Thanks mutteroo! Due tomorrow... Everyone send your "get out!" Vibes! Hehehe

Penelope Uylsses or Penelope Bodeica

Nunyabiz · 25/05/2014 19:23

Wow thanks everyone for your input.
I must say I did not expect such a strong leaning towards London- pleasantly surprised!
I know it shouldn't matter what anyone else thinks, and not everyone has the same taste in names, but I know I can be a bit inwardly judgey pants about other people's name choices and think our friends and family could possibly be a bit too polite to say anything, so it's been very insightful to get your feedback!

I like Penelope London too! I've surprised myself but it's grown on me over the thread!!

MyrtleDove · 25/05/2014 18:38

I like Penelope London better. Penelope Aurelia is a bit too frilly and fussy for me - I don't think of Penelope as a fussy sort of name.

burgatroyd · 25/05/2014 18:07

Penelope London is fab! Prefer quirky mn as they are great talking points.

janie2 · 25/05/2014 17:54

London, it seems to mean the most to you which is the important thing!
Aurelia is lovely, but my first thought was silver and gold are to linked in my head to winner and runner up that it might not be the best idea!

molly84 · 25/05/2014 17:46

Penelope Aurelia is stunning

itfcbabe · 25/05/2014 17:43

I really like the name London.
