Hello, we already have a Mary and love it because it is old-fashioned but not in the top 100 baby names at the mo. We have just discovered we are expecting a boy and are stumped!! I'm a teacher so I really don't want a super-popular name... Suggestions please! Smile

Stephen, Andrew, Christopher or Peter. Underused.

Most of the classics mentioned so far are very chic at the mo and have become veeeeerrrry popular.

Reginald. Cool name

Eastpoint · 25/05/2014 21:43

I'm really disappointed that some one has already said Reginald. Has someone said Gordon or Leonard?

I have a Richard (named for my father) and it is uncommon now but has a long heritage (I know several adults from 35-75 but no children).

I second John - great name - underused as a first name too.

How about:

Wilfred (Wilfie/Wil)
Gilbert (Gil) v. Anne of Green Gables
Laurie
Willoughby
Henry
Wilbur (I nearly did!)
Edwin
Solomon (Solly/Sol)

Or a classic:

Thomas
William
James
Isaac

Or the ever fabulous Rafe (my son's name, got to get in there!!)
