Totally hypothetical but would it be weird to call our child Charis (adore, adore, adore!) if my name is Harriet and DH's name is Chris?? Sounds a bit to similar to Chris right? :-/

Isn't it slang for cannabis? I'm sure I've heard it called that, might be worth checking although perhaps you won't be frequenting circles that discuss drugs!

Yeah i prefer Carys

squoosh · 21/05/2014 13:19

Carys looks much prettier.

Yes it does sound like we've combined our names. But is that weird though?

It looks a bit unimaginitive maybe. Owh!! I also really like the name Kristen... Will have to find a new husband Wink

I know someone with this name and it's pronounced Karis if that helps.

Sounds like you have combined your two names - sorry!

I know a Charis and it's a lovely name, personally prefer the Carys spelling though.

Carys as far as I know - I've been doing some research this morning and it seems most people called Charis pronounce it Carys, apparently it's Greek. Nameberry says it's pronounced Har-EES but I don't like that.
