Ocean or Oceans?

Which name do you prefer for baby girl or are they too out there? Met baby Ocean and loved the name even though had dismissed it previously when I read it in name book so perhaps works better when said out loud. Thoughts welcome.

I have a friend with a little girl called Oceana

I'm normally a traditionalist with most names but think it's actually lovely and she suits it .

Off the point, rather - and quite agree with you about Osiris - but the Egyptian god's name was originally Set (Seth is a later Greek version of the name, which is sometimes used in English).

Seth is a name from the Old Testament. One of the children of Adam and Eve. Memorably the name of a handsome young man in Cold Comfort Farm.

Indian (Sanskrit) name Usha (oo-sha) means 'dawn'.

I used to teach a Nepalese girl called Oshin. Might be strange if you have no connection to Nepal however!

Someone suggested Osiris! What god of the dead? Chopped up by his brother, who would think that's a nice name for a little girl.

Roisin could be a grower... Cheyenne has similar sound but makes me think of pepper

I love Ocean, Oceana makes me think of horrible nightclubs though.
