One week until my elcs and we think Asa might be the one. What do you think? Sib of Astrid. Also need middle name ideas?
I'm liking Asa Fox. Our surname begins with I.

I love it but I worry Asa and Astrid are too similar. Also, as others have pointed out - you have two Scandi girls' names.

Astrid and Asa are both popular Swedish girls names. I know Asa can be masculine too but I find it very feminine sounding (perhaps the -a sound at the end?).

Ummm not to my taste but if you like it then go for it but be prepared to correct pronunciation!

An "ah" and a "er" ending sound different to me....but I guess it depends on your accent! Smile

Like Asa Briggs in Marxist historian? I always wanted my boys to be Asa and Fenner but DH said they sounded to left wing.

Oh wow, never knew it was an Old Testament boys' name. I only knew Åsa as a girls' name.

Åsa is a Scandinavian girls name, however I think it's lovely for a boy or girl. It is possible that with Astrid being popular in Scandinavia people might look at asa as being feminine in this instance. I still love it for a boy, just maybe not with the sibling Astrid.

I love it. The one I know is 56, so it feels very middle aged to me. I'm glad to see it coming back round.

Always liked the name Asa. Not sure if I would use it if I already had a child with a name beginning with A as you have? Asa Fox is a seriously cool name.

Asa Fox is great! If this little bean is a boy it will more than likely be Asa! Asa and Astrid would be a great sibset! Don't pay attention to anyone saying its a girls name they don't know what they are talking about....it's been a biys name since Old Testament times Wink
