I think it is Aw-ray-lia but mentioned it a friend who said Aw-ree-lia. Just curious...

Au rel ia

As it's written Au rel ia

MikeUniformMike · 11/07/2019 11:12

Or-eel-ya.

AnnieDianaLulu · 11/07/2019 08:33

Neither aur - el - lia

AuntGertrude · 10/07/2019 18:21

Aw-ray-lee-ah - Latinate pronunciation.

TatianaLarina · 10/07/2019 10:42

The e acute is only relevant to French. In Italian and Spanish it’s Ow ray lia no accents.

JustTheCrowsAndTheBeef · 10/07/2019 07:59

Baby Aurelia is now five years old so I imagine they’ve made a decision on pronunciation by now.

Joeybee · 10/07/2019 01:30

Your way. Didn't realise some people would pronounce it otherwise.

Lavenderblues · 09/07/2019 22:19

It's not spelled Aurélia or Auraylia, so it isn't pronounced with é sound.

It's Aurelia.

Prettylittlelady · 09/07/2019 20:27

With the ‘ray’ sound in the middle. Love this name, totally beautiful

bridgetreilly · 09/07/2019 19:55

And once again ZOMBIE THREAD.

Seriously, what's with them today? Do we actually need to get out those zombie apocalypse emergency plans?

Shadow1234 · 09/07/2019 19:09

Your friends way

Frith2013 · 09/07/2019 18:56

Or real ear.

Lavenderblues · 09/07/2019 16:45

I'd pronounce

Auralia as Au rah lia (the rah rhymes with StAR)

Aurelia as Au reh lia (the reh rhymes with ENemy)

kittytiggy · 09/07/2019 16:11

Or-ray-lee-uh

TatianaLarina · 09/07/2019 16:07

Auralia

That’s Au rah lia surely.

TatianaLarina · 09/07/2019 16:06

It can be pronounced either way. I prefer Au ray lia.

A2054 · 09/07/2019 15:10

Sorry update I named her Auralia

A2054 · 09/07/2019 15:09

Aw-ree-liyah in english. If it has an acute accent then aw-ray-liyah.
To get around the confusion I named my baby Aurelia as I didn't want people pronouncing it the English way.

indie123 · 01/06/2014 10:02

Awe-ree-lee-ah

Mrsindecision · 01/06/2014 09:42

Nice enough name, but this variation in pronunciation would drive me potty if it was my dd's!

Treesandbees · 01/06/2014 08:50

Orally!

ToffeeMoon · 31/05/2014 17:24

Ow - as in ouch - ray-leeya

Polkadotscarf · 31/05/2014 08:11

Ow-ray-lee-a

bidibidi · 29/05/2014 22:05

I would say it like none of the above (I think).
Ow-RAY-lee-uh. Only one I know is Spanish speaker.

Cardinal · 29/05/2014 21:56

The same way they do in Love Actually Grin
