Primrose, Daisy or Alexandra?

Hi all,

I've already asked opinions on Primrose and most were positive but I'm still not 100% sure so thought I'd see what you all prefer out of my top 3 names.
So which is your fave and why out of Primrose Daisy or Alexandra??

Please also add a middle name if you like. Options for middle names (all family names) are:
Lily
Anne
Anna
Mary
Sylvia

Thanks Smile

I think Sylvia is very nice and deserves a revival. I agree that Daisy is a bit twee. Nothing wrong with Alexandra but I certainly don't love it. Not very keen on Primrose either but it's OK.

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 13/05/2014 12:08

I know an adult Daisy and she really suits her name. I imagine everyone saying that it only works on a little girl have never met any adults called Daisy.

Think Daisy Lowe. And Daisy Donovan. Nothing twee about either of them.

TidyDancer · 04/05/2014 18:57

Alexandra is by far the most beautiful. Daisy is very cute, but only on a little girl, not so much for an adult IMO. Primrose....not really a fan tbh.

Loveleopardprint · 04/05/2014 11:56

My DD is Daisy Hope. I have never regretted her name and not seen it as twee or cutesy. I also like your other two names though do not much help here!

TheDoctrineOfSnatch · 04/05/2014 11:50

Alexandra of those three

Other nature names I like:
Iris
Marguerite
Briony
Willow
Rowan

Nice to see some people like Daisy as well! Smile think it's such a pretty name and not childish at all but lots of people seem to find it very twee.

I like Daisy Anne, followed by Primrose Anna,
Pretty and whimsical :)

KitKat1985 · 03/05/2014 20:15

Alexandra is my favourite out of those three. xx

funnyoldonion · 03/05/2014 19:30

If you're not sure in primrose don't use it cos it's a bit of a marmite name and you have to really love it in order to have to stick up for it when people don't like it. I love it though x

loveisagirlnameddaisy · 03/05/2014 12:29

My DD is Daisy (can you guess from the NN?!). I love it and it's growing with her so I don't think it will feel twee for her as an adult's name. But we have had thar comment made to us before. Her middle name is Elizabeth.

Other than that I do love Alexandra. Primrose doesn't do it for me.

foofooyeah · 02/05/2014 19:01

Alexandra!

Montsti · 02/05/2014 18:55

Alexandra! Daisy is sweet but too cutesy IMO and Primrose isn't to my taste.

Starbright24 · 02/05/2014 18:37

I love alexandra lily...names that I have been thinking of myself but still loads of time to go.
also like rose and rosie

Lannypanny123 · 02/05/2014 18:34

I love primrose by far the best loverly name xx

Benchmark · 02/05/2014 17:43

Love Posie, would probably shorten Primrose to Posie but see it as a nn.
Wren is lovely but surname is one syllable so want at least a 2 syllable first name.
I tend to prefer nature names or quirky names. The only classic name I'd consider is Alexandra (I think)
Not keen on overly popular names, but equally don't want something too unusual or silly. I actually really like Xanthe, but DH doesn't.

Alexa? Antonella, Nell for short, Cristobel, Wren, Posie, Iris?

Middle name I love Sylvia. Sylvia for first name would be great! Does popularity bother u? Do u want classic or something different?

Benchmark · 02/05/2014 17:15

I've come back to the thread and now penfold is on the table! Grin not quite the style I was going for but thanks!

Alexandra. It's lovely,and a strong name too.

Daisy is ok.

Primrose is awful. Ugly but twee.

flavourflave · 02/05/2014 16:58

Penfold also great!

squoosh · 02/05/2014 15:47

Oh yes Penfold! Grin

Loved that little guy.

BurdenedWithGloriousPurpose · 02/05/2014 15:46

That was Penfold. Grin

squoosh · 02/05/2014 15:45

Wasn't Penrose the name of Dangermouse's side kick?

flavourflave · 02/05/2014 15:36

Sorry, but that shipman documentary was on the other night and it did put me off the name!

How about Penrose? Cool unisex name like Alex, place in Cornwall, fresher than Primrose.

Pobblewhohasnotoes · 02/05/2014 14:58

Alexandra is lovely. Really not keen on Primrose.

Chocolategirl7 · 02/05/2014 14:43

I have an Alexandra Louise although her current nickname is Lexie Lou. I'm hoping it will lengthen again when she gets a bit older.

Love Alexandra Primrose but not sure about Primrose as a first name. Grin
