Gosh there are some childish posters on this thread. How sheltered has your life been that 'Monty' gives you an attack of the vapours?

Monty, Dolly, Herbie, Buster/Boo and

Hubert/Hughey
Morrice
Halbert/Hal
Winston
Nelson

Lillias
Rita
Mimsie
Ruby Roo ( though this might be too close to Scooby Doo trying to say his own name.....)

From the suggestions already made, i like Betty, Bunty or Hetty for girls and Bertie or Ernie for a boy.

If you really want to shock everyone, I'd go for John or Jane :o

I think anyone from the Viz generation would have a giggle at Buster.

flavourflave · 02/05/2014 06:26

Nowt wrong with out there middle names! Its a talking point. I have an extremely giggle worth surname that people would try and tease me about when I was a tot. I learnt many ways to deflect them and I would not change my surname now! Love it!
In big cities unusual names are common. True smaller villagers might be filled with children named from the top 100 where anything else might stand out but times are changing. Kids got to learn that they can't be mean about someones name.
And I fail to see how the first names inc Buster are that unusual!

I know a Flash Monkey - fantastic name, suits him and his wonderful, creative parents.

I love Pixie for a girl. OH and I have had some really unkind comments about name choices. We love the name Elvis and after reading this thread I'm putting it back on the list! Smile Smile

None of your children's names would make me raise my eyebrows. They're all real names, and pretty cool ones at that. I've always loved Monty and Buster makes me think of the comic of the same name I used to read when I was a child.

I love Fox too.

Tiger

I also have a soft spot for nature names, Willow, Lavender, Jonquil, Ash, Juniper

I had Fox as a middle/second name! I think it'd be a supercool first name though. Rex is cool too. I love the pairing a grandad name with a more off-the-wall one.

angelinterceptor · 01/05/2014 20:00

I just remembered the name I wanted to use if I had another DC

It's Bode ( after the Olympic skier Bode Miller)

It's pronounced Bodie

babyfedleaning · 01/05/2014 19:45

I like your style too - perhaps more on the first names that middle ones so I hope you find something on this thread that stands out. My boys have relatively unused names and I love that they are the only kids we know with them.. I suggest:

Mortimer
Rocky
Albie
Milton

Dodie
Pearl
Lux
Doris
Biba

HattyMonkey · 01/05/2014 19:40

I don't understand why some people think that Herbie, Dolly and Monty are so out there. Buster Boo is more so but Buster is a boys name.
