I'm most of uses MN worse nightmares when it comes to baby names. I understand almost 100% won't like my childrens names and I really don't mind I quite like it in fact that way I know they won't become popular.

Thanks for some of the really nice comments I knew my names wouldn't be up to some of MN standards I've read hundreds if threads before posting for the first time and its seems if your names don't tick certain boxes there not MN worthy,

I understand there not going to be everyone taste like I have said before I like that fact but people are just plain rude, there a diffrance,

I was in hospital just given birth to monty and a lady across the ward had given birth to twins she felt the need to mock my newborn babies name, when she had name her boy and girl Rebecca and Daniel I don't dislike theses names but there simply not my taste (there are some top names I love like poppy & jack) but I would never of slated her choices but other people think its acceptable to do so.

I'm loving Bunty what could also get the NN bun I'm sure it's a little boy so need to narrow down a few more boys names

I can not believe how rude people have been on this thread. Op's children already have these names, names she loves. She has not asked for any opinions on her existing children's names and only mentioned them to give us an idea of the sort of names she likes for her next baby. Not for us to judge them. It is none of our business.

Yes, Dolly and Dot are diminutives but are also completely different words and most importantly flow together nicely.

The name you give your child does reflect the parent's tastes. How can it not? If the child has a problem with this then they can change it! Unofficially that is! I grew up in London school and there were some great, exotic names about rubbing alongside the classics. No problems as far as I could see. Only when the name was somehow lost in translation and phonetically sounded like a rude word but people soon got bored of babyish comments if there were any.

Lanny - that's exactly why dolly dot is like Dorothy Dorothy. They are both nicknames from the same name.

Using your examples it's like having Millie Mildred or Harry Harold etc. Harry is usually from Henry btw, so naming child Henry Harry would get a few looks also.

I don't understand how Dolly Dot is like calling your child Dorothy Dorothy her name is dolly never in a million years have people ever thought she was called Dorothy

Isn't Harry NN for Harold or Millie NN for Mildred ???? But I know loads of children with theses names that aren't called the full name and that seems acceptable

As for not giving Buster-Boo a job interview says more about you then the name.

I can assure you my children have theses names and Bloom was actually my front runner for a boy but its too similar to boo so it maybe more of a middle name,

Bunny I LOVE I can just imagine my daughter my little Bun, :)

Thanks everyone for some great ideas I'm not finding out the sex of this baby but will make sure I come back and update with the chosen name,

It's funny how must people find Buster the most different out the 4 it's the only name I've given then to hear others in the area there's actually a few boy around 15-20 with the name xxxx

Sad to think that Gypsy could be seen as offensive nowadays - I love it, and have a secret longing to name my DD that (but I won't)

I always used to associate it with romance and adventure - a combination of Enid Blyton stories and the Cadbury Flake advert...

If I got a job application from a 'Buster-Boo' I might be inclined to throw it in the bin as an obvious piss take I'm afraid. I suppose all these highly cutsie names may be incredibly mainstream in 20 years time and perhaps it will be Flash Monkey (really Hmm) doing the recruiting, but seriously there are names for people and nick names for toddlers, and to me that is absolutely in the later category.

Oh and I have a very unusual name which I love and always get a positive reaction to. You don't need to go to quite such extremes to be different.

Monty and Herbie are pretty mainstream, and Dolly isn't that unusual a diminutive for Dorothy. I would suspect that both Monty and Herbie may well find themselves meeting other people with their names. Dolly Dot is the equivalent of Dorothy Dorothy to me, just a really odd combination to choose, makes me think of the sort of names that characters in a small children's book or TV show might have. Monty with Jack = Monterrey jack cheese, again just a bit odd. However middle names are in general not much used so not that bizarre I suppose.

I'm not sure I really really believe the OP isn't taking the piss though, given that she has suggested calling her new baby 'Bunny'. I think 'Bloom' would be pretty difficult for the average boy to carry off too.

I really like your children's names OP. There are so many lovely names out there, why should we all stick to the same ones!

Girls: kitten, Rory, Delilah, Lola, Blue, Tiger

Boys: Zorro, Ace, Fox

I like my name. It's never caused issue for me, everyone can pronounce it and I've never had Hmm Confused looks when introducing myself.

Nobody can stop you being anything you want to be Buster-Boo could be a doctor, lawyer or teacher with or without his name, at the moment I find there names often are an advantage,

And somewhere I can't remember asking for opinions on my currant childrens names there not going to change anytime soon so it's a little pointless,

I need help with a new name and my taste isn't really going to change on baby number 5

How many of us really like our own names? I don't be would never think of changing it.

Yeah, I read that somewhere about Barrie and Wendy, but then also read something about it being the first time it had appeared in literature but that it was already used as a shortening for Gwendoline so was not "made up" as such and that also seems like it could be true.
