What do you think? Will people hear it and assume "nosy parker" and would said child likely to be nicknamed "nosy parker"?

I mentioned it to DH. He thought I meant Parka, ad wondered why someone would name their child after a mod anorak?
So:Parker from Thunderbirds , Parker Knoll, Parker Pens ,A nosey Parker, A porker Parker, or "is Parker wearing a Parka"? It isn't looking good op.

You see I like the name and I don't like it at the same time. Hmm

I don't like some of the associations that go along with it (nosy parker, thunderbirds, parker pens) but I do like it otherwise but I'm afraid a child would have the piss taken out of them.

Very popular round here for both males and females. I always associate it with a boy though, I quite like it.

I agree with Nadia. I'm not a massive fan of surnames as first names, although some of them aren't so bad, but this has to be the worst example. Even as a surname it's pretty unimpressive.

Hideous. Possibly the worst of the surname type names, maybe because of the 'nosy parker' associations. Possibly they don't use that phrase in the USA, hence its popularity there. The sound of the word isn't great either.

If you absolutely have to use it, I hope to goodness it's not for a girl, because it's just ugly. Sorry to be so blunt.

It's a nice name, and certainly nicely unusual but not too weird......unfortunately I know a 4 year old Parker who has put me off the name forever.
