I love Persephone and know 2, both called Sephy for short (all the Pennys I know are Penelope's, can't see that at all)

I do think of you use a slightly more unusual name you should probably keep the middle names short/simple though

Feeling uneducated, and wondering what Marina Nearthe windmill was refering to, I googled Persephone Marina and discovered that Persephonella Marina is a water-borne bacteria, and that there is a tug boat called Persephone, currently in a marina in Trinidad... Fortunately OP is not bothered about meaning - I can't imagine children in years to come will be less prone to googling their own and each others names though... :o

Persephone is a great name and yes it's still used in Greece. I'm not sure about the combination with Marina...another beautiful name, but I'm not sure if I'd use them together. Other names you might consider:

Persephone Marina is as far as you can go with a double barrel surname on top, if you want her to remain on speaking terms with you after the age of 10... Be prepared for her to insist onbeing called a much simpler nickname from about age 7 or 8 too...

Persephone Marina would be fine if your mother won't speak to you again if it is not included .

Having multiple other names detracts and makes form filling difficult, particularly with a v long surname.
My siblings and I have two mn but it was in order to include multicultural family names. If you don't have any Greek connection at all, it seems a little strange to use a string of Greek names. Pick a name which you both like or one with a family connection.

I know a lot of people with Kensington addresses and double barrelled surnames who don't call their children Greek names to be honest. Very nice they are too, stinking rich perhaps but refeshingly down to earth.

Persephone with a simpler middle name. I don't see the need for two complicated middle names after something long and classical to be honest. We kept our dd's first name short, simple and classical and gave her a longer and more unusual middle name. We were mindful of the fact that we have a very long surname with a counterintuitive pronounciation and wanted to ensure the children were given manageable names in keeping with their peers.

I have a name which is very unusual and of a similar genre to some of the OP's options and whilst I don't mind it now, I absolutely hated it as a child and the comments it generated and my circles were fairly landed.

Having said that I quite like Xanthe.

I have no idea why you need a middle name after it. Particularly one chosen by strangers? With no family history or love?

I'm actually pro middle names but why lump random pics from a dictionary onto your child? Look at your history ffs. Or leave it. For if you say it like mini the middle name is fone...

No idea - but I know 2 & they're both penny (pennies?) - maybe it's the nearest "regular" shortening (Percy is a boys name so no idea why you'd call a daughter that)

Not sure why/when it started - I shall ask them!

(Btw both of them hate the name - one has 2 dds and has called them Jane and kate as a reaction!)

It's going to be the most enormous mouthful of a name to have persephone then three middle names then a double barrelled surname!! It will never fit on forms!!

Wow such negativity towards a lovely name from people who don't sound like they know the story that well. Persephone will get shortened to Percy which is a great nn. She is the bringer of spring and new growth.

Persephone is beautiful! Pretty, classic and not overused.

Middle names are rarely used so choose whatever you like, but bear in mind the overall length so filling out forms doesn't take too long (although I'm not eve sure the ask for all names that often?)
