I like Maeve/Meadhbh a lot. Dermot is OK, but prefer Diarmuid.

I hope you don't mind me referring to your other names thread while I'm answering this one. I really like Joseph and have used it myself as a middle name. I think Brendan is a bit old-fashioned but it's a nice name with a retro feel and may be due for a revival.

Mary is much rarer in Ireland now, I only know a couple of young Marys. I'm not fond of Ellen at all, but I've noticed it's becoming popular again.

Especially like it then! Not that you can only use your own cultural names, but an Irish name on and Irish kid makes sense, doesn't it?
