Penelope
Katherine/Kate nn (not 100% sure on spelling DH prefers with a C)
Bryony
Rosanna/Rosie

My choice would be Helena or Bryony, but I would spell it Briony personally. They are both lovely names. Katherine and Rosie are nice but a bit dull imo. Penelope I think is just hideous (although obviously lots of people love it!)

Helena or Katherine (I prefer K, DH prefers C here too).

Penelope makes me think of the (not very well known) Christian Ricci Pig nose girl movie.

You obviously didn't have unambiguous spelling on your list of criteria. All lovely but a PITA with regards to spelling.

What a lovely shortlist! Personally I'd narrow it down to Helena, Katherine or Rosanna. Would probably go with Helena, just because Katherine is a bit plain for me, and while I love Rosanna I'm not a fan of Rosie.

Maybe Helena Katherine? (I prefer the K spelling)

Helena and Penelope are my favourites.

I really like Katherine too. I prefer it as Catherine personally.

Thanks everyone! DH and I have narrowed down to either Helena or Bryony as first name, with Katherine or Kate as mn (probably kate as it goes better with surname!)

And yes it would be said Helen-a not he-lay-Na. I once worked with the latter and people never got the pronunciation right and I could always see the frustration!
