aaaagh... boys names!

Hello,

We've just found out that our third (and last!!) baby is a little boy and of course we have a million beautiful names for a girl, but are really struggling for this little chap.
Our Ds1 is 14 months old and having spent nine long months, quite recently, chosing his perfect name, every other name has been rejected at length.
We went through a phase of super posh (and yes, pretentious) names, but we've discovered that we're really quite ordinary and we would seem a bit daft calling out a name more fit for an ancient greek philosopher in our local park.

So... We've boiled it down to the following...

Henry
James
Stanley
Hugo
Spencer

Siblings are Isabella and Arthur
Surname, one syllable, begins with H.

Any favourites on the list above or similar/ not so similar additions would be most welcome.

Totally stumped on this- they're all 'ok', but I'm not in love with any of them.

Ok, surname is House, which is a nightmare as every name sounds like a drug rehabilitation unit or a museum.
Even our son, Arthur hasn't got off lightly. When we took him to meet my delightful father and introduces him, my dad burst out laughing and started calling him bungalow...

'Arfa House, Arfa House is a bungalow innit'

Yes, that's right, my dad is a jackass.

Spencer House sounds like a museum, James House is boring, Hugo House just sounds silly...

Stupid stupid surname, but apparently Dh taking my dignified and fantastic surname upon marriage was not an option!
I don't mind admitting that when we saw his little dingle light up on the screen my heart sank a little. Not because little boys aren't awesome, but because I knew naming him would be such a ball ache.

Dh loves Sterling, but Sterling House sounds like a bank branch....

Hugo is fab. Spencer reminds me of the awful Speidi from the Hills!

The other two are nice but very common of course in that there are lots of them.

Don't see why having an H for a surname is an issue? Unless it would be Hugo Hugomann or something?!

I like Hugo the best out if your list. How does it sound with your last name? I wouldn't rule out the H- H- as it might sound lovely with a H surname.

Otherwise I would chose spencer :)

So, imagining your surname is Hill or Hall, I don't like the match with Henry. Somehow Henry H... is reminiscent of Henry Higgins.

Hugo H flows much better to me, though still very H-ish.

I think Stanley or Spencer would go best.

Don't like the single syllable of James.

I like Spencer.

Is your last name hu as we'll? If so, I wouldn't choose Hugo - although it is a nice name.

The others any of them are lovely but I like Stanley best!

We also like Ted (Edward for full name)

Could be Teddy, Woody, Edward Bear etc.

Love Arthur and Henry too.
