I really like it. It was on my list but DH who hails from Canada said it was the name of allergy medication and so therefore no, a bit like calling a child Piriton was what he said. However if you have no North American connections then I shouldn't think it would matter to you. Vanessa Feltz has a daughter called Allegra and a Saskia too. Both really nice. I'm not sure how I have managed to store that useless nugget of information!

Nice. Makes me think of 'Dear Enemy', the sequel to 'Daddy-Long-Legs'. The Allegra in that is glorious and irresistible.

It's a lovely name. You could call a little girl Ally and then it's a fab name for an adult. Byron's daughter was called Allegra. Sadly she died young though
The meaning of it is fab too. I wouldn't hesitate.

I did, and thought hmmm, Allegra, that's a nice name. Hadn't really heard of it before. It's sophisticated.
