Heard this name today and think it is gorgeous! I think it can be short for Hepzibah...which I don't like!

What do you think? I also like Effie but I don't think it sounds great with our surname as it has an f sound in it!

Interesting that this has the spelling I quoted originally but when I looked on YT most had the Morrie spelling of the surname.

Epi is the pen or the slang word.

I know a woman called Pepe (could also be Pepi I guess). Fairly similar?

I use an 'eppy' pen but didn't think of that.

For some reason I thought Penelope or Persephone. And I adore the name Persephone so go for it Grin also love Effy and would use as a nn for Persephone or Elizabeth.

I know a 5 year old Effie whose name is just Effie. Eppie just reminds me of an old folk song Eppie Moray (I think) who was carried away by the laird but fought so hard "he couldna stretch her spey" she was a heroine :)

I also thought epipen, epilepsy and adrenaline (epi is US medical dramas). Sorry.

We have a Sephie, which is a similar sound. Short for Persephone which I know divides opinion on Mumsnet! I've also seen it spelt Seffi amd Sephy (which is how the character in the book Noughts and Crosses spells it).

I know a Letty which is in a similar vein too.

Or there's Steffi/Stephie (short for Stephanie or in its own right).
