We're really struggling to name DD3. She's 15 days old today and still has no name as nothing really fits the bill. Sisters' names are Leah and Orla. Any suggestions?

I bet you could shorten every single name on this thread!

dottyaboutstripes · 05/04/2014 15:57

Kerry would be Kez

Lotte (lot-ah)

CockBollocks · 04/04/2014 21:57

I know a Lottie, not charlotte. Just Lottie.

Agree that any name will get shortened/lengthened!!

Maeve goes beautifully with Leah and Orla, I think.

InvaderZim · 04/04/2014 20:16

I know someone who had this requirement, she chose Miriam.

BrunoBrookesDinedAlone · 04/04/2014 20:13

Nia would be good.

Seminyak · 04/04/2014 20:02

Heather doesn't have an obvious nickname/shortening, if that is kind of what you're after?

(Although the 2 I know get Hev or Het)

Short names just get lengthened into nick names ime!

Seminyak · 04/04/2014 19:59

Single, not agile!

Seminyak · 04/04/2014 19:58

I think anything can and will be shortened. They'll definitely have nicknames anyway. I don't think I know a agile person whose name has never been shortened or had a nickname. Eg Clare = Claz, Amy = Ames

You will find at school (particularly secondary school) just about every name manages to get shortened or altered!
e.g. Helen becomes Hel; Emma becomes Emz; Nina becomes Nee; Ava become Ave etc etc!
