I'll google that book, winky. Louisa is definitely on the list and James is a possibility for a middle name. You have impeccable taste!

Alice for a girl: James for a boy

winkygirl · 18/04/2014 12:07

I have a Madeleine and a James.

If James had been a girl he would have been Louisa. This is entirely because of my love of a weird and wonderful book called "The Adventures of Madalene and Louisa" when I was a girl.

Other names we liked included Rosamund, Thomas, William...

Based on Madeleines I know:

Boys:
Oscar, Hugo, Toby, Ben

Girls:
Imogen, Natasha

My sister is Madeleine (Maddy) and I am Kathariné (Katie) however my sister feels like she got the raw deal :S

eatyourveg · 08/04/2014 20:52

Bartholomew nn Bertie No idea where that came from but it was the first name I thought of after Madeleine. I think they go together well. As for a girl I would go for Florence

I have a friend that is a Florence so can only associate it with her! Lovely name though. DH has just redeemed himself by suggesting Anneliese! It's a bit of a mouthful with Madeleine but then most things are! Grin

Florence

Thanks, pancakes! Ezekiel is cool. I really like Daniel/Danny but DH says no.

Madeleine is a beautiful name :) I like all the other names that you've said you like (Josephine, Helena, Rupert, etc, etc). Errol is an okay name but I'm not sure I like it - it would be uncommon though which can be good.

Girls:
Jessica
Lauren
Audrey
Faye
Theresa

Boys:
Alfred
Ezekiel
James
Daniel
Matthew

Thanks for your thoughts and suggestions. Oliver is really growing on me! Errol not so much. Delphine is lovely! I'm also contemplating Eloise & Louisa after a friend suggested them today. As if i needed more girls options! Grin

Oliver is gorgeous and goes really well.
