When you were at school...

What name's were there always more than one of in your year? I was one of 4 Louise's! Also 3 Georgia's, 3 Lucy's, 2 Emma's, 2 Jessica's, 2 Elizabeth's (and that was at a small all girls school with just 50 girls in the year). I decided at a young age my children would have slightly more unique names as I got fed up of being "Louise M" rather than just "Louise!

Ah, but boys - they were ALL called Sam, Tom, Ben and Jack. What is even the point in these names??? They identify a quarter of the year group.

YeahBitch there is a reason for all the Paulas in my year.

I was born in 1980. Pope John Paul visited Ireland in 1979.

Every other Irish baby that year was JohnPaul or Paula Grin .

I'm really surprised at so many mentions of Paula here. I am a Paula born mid 60's and I've only ever met two others, and one was about 5 years younger than me.

I was born in the mid 60's and there were always loads of Lisas, Julies, Debbies, Traceys, Jackies, Sharons and Karens.

Boys were all Paul, Steven, Mark and David.

Paul, Adam, Dean. John, Tony, Mark x 2, Shaun, Kevin, Tim, Martin, Stephen.

Michelle, Helen, Diane x 2, Lisa, Catherine, Georgia (terribly exotic at the time) Lesley, Lynn, Andrea, Wendy, Kynwyn (see Georgia)

My year (born 1970/71) full of Karens, Helens, Kevins and Stevens.
My sister's year (born 1973/74) - about 10% of the girls were called Zoe,also lots of Emmas, Daniels and Spencers.

Loads of girls called Claire, Joanne, Paula, Sarah, Louise and Sarah-Louise (!) and then there were girls called Tracey, Suzanne and Sharon.

Boys were Matthew, David, James, Paul and also lots of Darrens, Waynes and Lees.

We did have a few weird ones like the girl named Carenza Sapphire ***
And the offspring of my parents country and western loving friends who were called Wesley, Clifton and Daisy-Lou.

In a class of 30 girls in my junior school, if I can remember that far back, there were 2 Paulines, a Paula, 2 Amandas and, strangely, 2 Justines.
