Going on from the boy thread. I'm 14 weeks so don't know what I'm having yet but I have the feeling its a girl. Only problem is we have a boys list a mile long but only some ok girls names.

I love Teddy, Tyger, Wolf, Fox, Dexter etc for boys but can't seem to find any names like this for girls. Any ideas?

Or you could just call her a nice name and let her be cool or not, depending on what sort of girl she is?

Oh, and please don't call a girl Benedict.

We have the same name taste. I had a huge boys list. A very small girls name despite constant searching. We had a girl and Called her Antigone, nickname Tiggy and her middle name is Tiger. There is some incest in the name Antigone, but there is with most ancient greek names, it didn't put me off!

Other names on my list were Juno, Theodora (love Teddy and Theo and Tess and Tady option for nicknames) Fern, Cassiopeia (Cassie) Ottilie, Isis, Daphne, Astrid, Runa, Storm, Obelie, Clover, Tyro, Ida, Hesper, Greta, and Saffi.

Oh and Nell. Was quite peeved to find when dd was about 18 months old h's nan was called Nell and if he'd known we could have used it.

Vickiyumyum · 26/02/2014 22:48

I loved
India
Bronte
Harper (pre beckhams as dd is almost 8)
But h vetoed them all. Also had Darcie, freja, grace but she has a very traditional name one that everyone will have heard and probably know one.

Ooh DS has a friend called Indigo. I love it. When I saw it on a class list I assumed she'd be known as Indie, but she's not, she's definitely Indigo,

I always get in her too late as some if the names that I think are "cool" have been posted (Lux, Luna). I would also add:
Marlo
Juniper
Clover
Pru (Prudence)
Bay
