I met a little boy called Ace the other day. Hadn't ever considered it as a name before but he really lived up to it.
I also think Teddy is a pretty cool name.

Ace is DD's middle name

I often come across names I love - just the name itself, not necessarily connected with a little boy. Current favourites include Silas (everyone I've spoken to in RL has been quite negative about it, but I like it so much that it's even replaced my all-time favourite name - Josiah - as a name for a future DS, since I can't stand Jo(e) as a shortening, and it would have to be Si for short, which doesn't go with Silas), Theo, and Thaddeus nn Thad (but those two would have to be either/or - again, not a good sibset).

I've used to volunteer in a preschool, and came across some gorgeous little guys with names that really suited them, like Lucian, Keiton, Ozkan, Sai Nikhil, Alfonzo (pron. Ah-fonz), and the most adorable little Polish boy, Mateusz nn Matty.

It's definitely the little guy who makes the name, and not the other way around.

I like Atticus, Dexter, River and Lachlan.

They all sound pretty cool to me. Names like Julian and Percy do not. Funny how we all think so differently.

stripedtortoise · 07/08/2014 20:40

I think the names Xavier, Julian & Rex are great.

Marnierose · 07/08/2014 17:38

Teddy is really popular. Still pretty cool though.

Blueberry, Percy is brilliant, I love it.

My eldest son is John (aged 5). I love it because it is so plain and we have yet to meet another John under 10. My own personal view is that it is just as 'cool' as alot of the wackier names because in its own way it is a brave choice. Then again, we live in an area where you can't move for Oscars and Noahs and Fins and Henrys. So I guess I would say that! I chose it because despite knowing about a million Johns throughout life, I never met one who was a twat.

People often look perplexed when I tell them his name and I have heard people put their foot in it by saying they 'had' to use John as a middle name for family reasons. I don't mind though.

I loved Dorian for DS2 but I went with it for a middle name instead. Often wish I had been braver, I love it.

Also love Buster.
