What does everyone think of this combination? I love Verity Clementine written down, but I'm not too sure when spoken.

Note: I pronounce Clementine Clemen-teen.

Like Verity Beatrix much more. Beatrix is edgier than Clementine.

maytherebe · 27/02/2014 08:02

Love the name Verity! Verity was the alternative to our Felicity.

If you really love Verity Clementine, I think you should go ahead. I see no problem with how it sounds - it's really quite sweet!

Not as sure about Verity Beatrix. I agree with Allalonenow above.

Verity Primrose, though! That's really lovely. Primrose can be difficult to consider as a first name because of the likelihood of it being shortened to Prim, but that's not at all a problem if it's a middle name!

I think Verity Clementine is a better combination that Verity Beatrix, the longer softer Clementine contrasts with and balances Verity, but Beatrix is too similar to Verity in sound and length.

Verity Primrose is adorable, by the way.

Thanks everyone for the comments/suggestions!

Just throwing it out there: how about Verity Beatrix?

Love it.

LadyHarrietdeSpook · 26/02/2014 02:11

I have a verity and clementine was the alternative. Love both - do it!

Pinkandwhite · 26/02/2014 00:12

I love the name Verity but I'm not as keen on Clementine.

felicisbirdsong · 26/02/2014 00:08

Or

Verity Rose
Verity Rosalind
Verity Rosamund!

SuperScrimper · 25/02/2014 21:06

Too much! I really like Verity Elizabeth though.

SilkStalkings · 25/02/2014 21:00

Since Verity means truth, how about another virtue/meaning?
Verity Belle
Verity Honour
Verity Joy
Verity Justinia
Verity Serena
Or even a tortology with Verity Alithea.

Winglet · 25/02/2014 10:40

I think that is just lovely :)

felicisbirdsong · 25/02/2014 08:53

How about

Verity Violet
Verity Primrose
Verity Lavender

if you want to continue with an 'organic' theme?

SilkStalkings · 24/02/2014 18:46

Aria is awesome. Operatic references and homage to Arya Stark, a worthy role model for any girl.

butterfliesinmytummy · 24/02/2014 03:41

I like Verity, but then I have a Verity Elizabeth, after a great grandmother. She gets called Vivi.

LettertoHermioneGranger · 24/02/2014 02:41

Verity Clementine sounds very American Southern Belle to me. A bit twee. I like both names on their own, and I like Aria.

MrRected · 24/02/2014 02:40

IMO I think it's a bit of a mouthful. On it's own, Verity is a lovely name but in combination with Clementine, it sounds a bit pretentious. Of course, the second name rarely comes into it, so won't make a blind bit of difference unless you are thinking of hyphenating the name.

truthvoyager · 24/02/2014 02:34

Another is Maya, which is the mn of an aunt I'm very fond of.

So, instead of Verity Clementine, there could also be:

Verity Aria
Verity Maya

Please let me know what you all think of these alternatives.

There is also Aria. DH likes this one, but I thought it was a bit too modern. Thoughts?

I really like Verity but not so keen on Clementine as the middle name. Any other middle name options?

Nancy66 · 23/02/2014 11:40

nice names but not together. Bit OTT

MarysDressSways · 23/02/2014 11:22

I think it's lovely!

Hewhodares · 22/02/2014 17:01

Such beautiful names but I'm not sure together?

ButICantaloupe · 22/02/2014 16:55

Sorry, OP. They aren't a good combination IMO. It just sounds a 'bit much'.

Verity on its own is lovely, though. Smile

HerGraciousMajTheBeardedPotato · 22/02/2014 16:53

Both names are nice IMO, but they don't go well together.

Verity was on my list, but dh vetoed it because he knew a Verity at school, who used to get called Ferrety.
