Yes Luke as a middle name could work as the surname is quite long... yes it is so hard, definitely feeling the pressure to get it right!

I know quite a few Cameron's (being Scottish it's popular up there) and most of them are known by cam.

Thanks justmuddling, good to know. Think we would use Cameron on the BC and use cam for day to day.

Just still can't quite decide between that and Luke, argh!

My Cameron is called cam or cammy sometimes. my dh thinks it's hilarious to call him Ron or more often big Ron bit hrs only 22 months so hopefully that will stop soon!

Cameron. I have one too and have never thought of the David Cameron thing. My Cameron is a lovely young man, I'm very proud of him. Grin

If you like Cameron, I really wouldn't worry about an association with David Cameron. David Cameron is a Tory prime minister with loads before him, and no doubt loads after him, assuming the conservatives are elected again. He is but a passing name, albeit a current one which makes it topical.

Cameron. I have a Cameron with a very strong scottish surname (we are not scottish) It works well.

Oh and My Cameron is not unruly or unpleasant Wink

Cameron. I have one and not one person has mentioned David Cameron. I think it'd go better with a Scottish surname too.

Neverknowingly, don't worry,no offence taken - I need people to be honest! Seems Luke might be the favoured option.

Sorry to be horrid but each Cameron I have met (5 of them) have been unruly and unpleasant children. So I naturally see the name in a less pleasant light. Sorry!!

It's funny, I think of Cameron as being quite a strong name. I also really like the shortened form of Cam. BUT, I am worried about the David Cameron thing...is that going to immediately spring to mind for people? Argh!

Depends too how much you mind a name being shortened, Cameron is always shortened here to Cam Or Cammie

Thanks all. Our surname is Scottish (long, beginning with s) so wondering if that makes a difference to using Cameron or not?? (We're not Scottish)
