Hi
Just found out that I am pregnant with dc2 and my hisband and I are already stumped about possible baby names and wondered whether anyone had any possible names that would go with my dd (16 months) who is Seren Grace. We live in West Wales and my husband is Welsh so any Welsh names could be considered and my heritage is Irish so any celtic name would be nice as well.
Just in case you didnt know, Seren means star in welsh so names with meanings would be good too!

Delyth for a girl (it means pretty)

Teifion for a boy (it is a river in Ceredigion and a boys name! pronounced TEI vyon)

I have heard Bran used a few times recently. All the legend names in use now so people looking to finn mccool's dog for inspiration. I think of All Bran first! I love legend names but i would use the human names like conor, finn, oisin, diarmuid before using the name of a dog .... but then maybe thats illogical. Names like lucy rosie susie etc all work for both.

I like Bran.

It's pronounced more like Brahn than straight out Bran.

Will definitely get Branflakes but I knew a boy called Daniel. His parents did not expect him to be teased with "Daniel,Daniel, Cocker Spaniel" on account of his big ears when naming him, I would imagine.

Kids are mean.

I am really surprised how popular Seren is becoming- I thought no one would have heard of it.

Thanks for all your replies. I love Eira and Eirlys, but dc2 is due in september so a bit premature for snow related names. My dh is dylan and his brother is rhys so we would have to discount them.

I do like Bleddyn and Owain and also Huw/Hugh.

I have just come across the name "Bran" from the mabinogion- what do people think of that for a boy? Would people automatically think "bran flakes"??

Anwen means 'most beautiful', I love the name might be biased as my DD2 is Anwen

Aneira - 'eira' being the Welsh for 'snow'. I think it's a lovely sounding name, and comes from nature just like Seren

Nothing useful to add just surprised to see Seren in a thread title. It's my current favourite for my dd due in June but dh is swithering as he's never heard of it. I love it though and pleased to hear it means star.
