Willow is my favourite. Have you considered Iona or Isla? They also seem to fit with your shortlist.

CPtart · 18/02/2014 15:36

Iris.

Not keen on the others.

ditsygal · 18/02/2014 15:26

In order of preference
Willow - love this name
Iris - reminds me of the song by googoodolls in a good way
Skye - although slightly reminds me of the character in neighbours back in the day
Luna - not so keen to be honest

DownstairsMixUp · 18/02/2014 15:15

I agree, Luna is a horrible name (imo) the other three are all nice! I only know one baby Skye. That's my favourite name on your list.

RoseHoney · 18/02/2014 15:13

What about Una?

Behindthecandelabra · 17/02/2014 15:11

I love Iris. The others, nah, not my cup of tea tbh.

Loveyouthree · 17/02/2014 15:05

Oh my god, Ive got a baby Willow, and I'm only 5"0!! Shit, is that bad?! She's going to get bullied? :(

OP all of those name were on my short list apart from Skye - a bit of a "rough" name round here Confused

Iris by far.

I'm afraid I agree with the D List celeb comments re Luna.

cheesepleese · 17/02/2014 11:34

Thanks. I think Iris is my favourite.
I have seen (on another board) Luna described as being a 'D List celeb' name, which is a shame. I worry that Skye and Willow are a bit hippy but I do love them.

As I'm sure you know, 'Luna' means 'Moon'. I don't wish to sound critical, but I really don't understand why anyone would want to call a child that.

Skye is a popular name for sheepdogs where I live.

Willow is pretty but might not suit a person with a sturdy or rounded figure.

Irises are beautiful flowers and are used in many perfumes - both are lovely associations for a name.

GranolaMam · 17/02/2014 11:05

Iris

HyvaPaiva · 17/02/2014 11:00

Iris - LOVE this
Willow - Really like
Skye - I live too close to the place to like it as a first name, IYSWIM
Luna - Hate this.

They are all woo, ethereal sort of names, apart from Iris who is a mother-in-law with varicose veins. She has sisters called Doris and Mavis.

HTH

NigellasDealer · 17/02/2014 10:57

Iris or Skye.

Luna sounds like the name of a cat or a harry potter character, and she will be called 'loony' throughout her schooldays.

willow is kind of naff - what if she were short and dumpy?

I like Iris but not the others personally.

Think Luna is a really naff thing to call a child.

MrsBungle · 16/02/2014 23:29

Skye or iris

SanityClause · 16/02/2014 23:28

I like Willow (because of Buffy) and Luna (Bear in the big blue house, rather than Harry Potter!)

Not keen on the other two.
