LOVE the name Logan, have done for years. It would be on my short list but doesn't go with the surname Sad

It's not American, though why that should matter anyway - it's Scottish. And like most of the nice normal Scottish names, they get taken over and then become popular and are then deemed Chavvy. Not in Scotland they weren't!

sillylittleperson - I also used to know a girl one (she'd be about 12 now though) wonder if it is the same one?

I don't like it really. My son's friend is Logan and says some very odd, violent things. So that makes me like it even less. Loganberries are nice though! Combination of blackberry and raspberry iirc.

how funny with the American slur! The boy called Logan who I knew who is now 12, his mum was very active in local NCT, had a DD called Georgia, about as English as you can get! The mum of the 5/6yo Logan at school sneers a bit at me (perhaps because I am American so not good enough for her).

Gawd, the English can be snobs about anything, can't you?

I knew one who must be 12yo now, and there is another in DS y1 class now, so probably 6.
It's fine by me. No weirder than Harrison or Jack.

But DH said that no way would he be letting me name his DS after Wolverine (X-Men).

Grin DS1's dad chose his name as DS1 didn't look like the Rhys we had chosen whilst I was pregnant. He suggested Logan in the delivery suite, and it seemed to suit. It was only after DS1's birth was registered, outside the registry office, that my ex-DH admitted he had chosen that name because of Wolverine...who is now DS1's favourite superhero!

Is a lovely name.

When almost 12yo DS1 was named Logan, it was nowhere near as popular as it is now. It's in the top 100 names now.

I wouldn't chose it now, for that reason (I prefer more uncommon names, not made up names, just not frequently used ones). BUT it is a lovely name, and it really suits my DS1.
