We finally sat down and talked about names. The contenders are:

Romilly (we both love this, but it is similar to our son's name and a distant friend has already used it. Does that matter?)
Xanthe
Beatrice
Tess (but short for what?)
Imogen
Georgia
Stella
Abigail

Surname is two syllables ending in er. Please help this be my last post..

I like Abigail the best.

Tess is often short for Teresa. Tess is lovely. Teresa, not so.

I like Xanthe best of all. With Beatrice second choice.

Romilly - love it. If friend is distant and you don't see them, I'd say it's usable.
Xanthe - gorgeous. Unusual and feminine.
Beatrice - not mad keen, a bit too popular for me, also a bit Victorian
Tess (but short for what?) - lovely on its own, I also love Bess
Imogen - not my taste
Georgia - in the same camp as Brooke and Paige for me, sorry
Stella - gorgeous and lovely meaning. Feels either cool and 60s, or 1930s
Abigail - don't like it at all, sorry

Don't think Tess has to be short for anything does it? DS has a Tess in his class and its just Tess Smile
