hello
I have a three year old DD Nancy and am looking for girl / boy names to go with it - grateful for any all suggestions - it seems hard to match - and I didn't think about matching when i chose her name!
Thank you!

Lois
Hazel
Honor
Greta

Victor

OP, I think names should (if possible) sound like they were chosen by the same set of parents. I mean, Mistral and Willow together (eg) sound like brother and sister. But Willow and Andrew, what's that, is one a dog? is one an older half brother??! Obviously this is just my opinion.

Would totally go for Beatrice if it wasn't for some family history

Yeah Hattie is nice too - I just worked with one who was less than pleasant and was known as Twattie Hattie - tricky. I think it's rather lovely but also very much like Elizabeth and love Bess as a nn, and Beth and Libby actually!

Good note not to go for Sid if it's a boy!! Love Joseph but several of the boys appeal, Benjamin beautiful too

Know what you mean about matching - I guess am just a bit of a tidy person and kind of need it to match - that will be my hang up!

Beatrice - Nancy & Bea

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 06/02/2014 17:17

Agree Harriet is lovely think Hattie is nicer than Hettie.

DaisyBD · 06/02/2014 16:17

They don't have to go together. I've never really understood this - once they're not children any more, they won't solely be referenced by their sibling. Many people in their future lives may not even know they have a sibling. Just choose a name you love.

Bowlersarm · 06/02/2014 15:38

I think Hettie is traditionally short for henrietta.

Heidi

squoosh · 06/02/2014 15:32

I think all the names listed are nicer than Harriet.

Innogen · 06/02/2014 15:29

Hettie is a perfect nickname for Harriet. Its such a good choice. Harriet and Nancy have gone together in my head for yearssssssssss. LOVE THEM!

pennyapples · 06/02/2014 13:54

Could you have Hettie as a nickname? Always liked that nn and never been sure what it's short for

Think Hallam is rather cool but tend to think of the university for some reason...

Think I might love Harriet! Does it work for a baby?

Hal is such a cool nickname Donkeys. Love it!

There was a Hallam in the Upstairs Downstairs remake, that's where it caught my attention.
