it's ridiculous I know but this name business - or lack of a name is starting to get me down. So far, DD2 has been the following:-

Amy
Brooke
Holly
Ruby
Amelia
Amelie

DD1 is Ella Rose.

names liked but can't use :- Emily, Abigail, Sophie, Jessica, Mia, Scarlett.

surname ends "sie" so Elsie loved but out due to DD1 & surname rhyming!!

HELP HELP HELP.

I have a Holly so I am biased but not totally convinced about Holly and Ella. Dd2 is one of your cant use names but we also discussed:

Laura /Lauren
Clara
Georgia
Charlotte/Lottie
Beth

Also both live Lorelai but are not brave enough!!

Countrywalks · 12/02/2014 10:12

I think Rose or Rosa is perfect. I realise you have a Ella Rose but I think it is nice to link the sisters together. I know other parents who have used their children's middle name for a new brother or sister. It's usually a name you love so why not.
Congratulations. Two of the same is fab.

hubbahubster · 12/02/2014 10:12

Oh, what about Milly?

hubbahubster · 12/02/2014 10:09

If Freya's good for you with Ella then what about…

Maya
Layla
Lily
Mya
Mia
Lori
Lois
Mae/May
Rosa/Rose
Iris
Marnie
Eva

And like Elsie…
Edith
Mabel

I feel your pain, I'm so stuck for girls' names and DH is being NO HELP.

The Lorelei Rock www.loreley-rhine.com/
Also contains a link to a famous romantic song about the Lorelei.

Lottie

I get used to something then hubs decides he's going off it... divorce definitely on the cards, grounds of unreasonable behaviour.

Op, what has changed your mind from Amelia? Thought you were pretty fixed?

Orangeboat · 06/02/2014 17:55

My favourite on your list is Holly love it I also like Amy. Ameilia is nice but I just know so many .

peppinagiro · 06/02/2014 15:16

Lorelei is pronounced Lorra-lie (like 'lie down'). It's German, I think she was some sort of siren who tempted German sailors to run aground on the Rhine? Maybe I made that up. There's definitely a song about her though (in German). It's a beautiful name.

MrsRV · 06/02/2014 08:05

DH didn't completely turn his nose up to Freya! progress. Grin

it wouldn't be half as difficult without DH's involvement :-)

I like Amelia best from your list. From the other names suggested I like Alice, Isobel and Violet. Ivy is nice too.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 05/02/2014 23:14

I always thought it was Lorra-lie but recently heard someone refer to Lorra-lay.

How about Anna or Hannah?

Did DH like Freya?

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 22:18

it's just really pissing me off. I'm a bit of a control freak and just like to be organised... I'm just not a "wait and see" kind of person!!

Oh MrsRV I so hope you find "the one" I understand the stress!

Wombmates · 05/02/2014 17:50

If you like Isobel but the Izzy nn doesn't work, then consider the nn Ibby - my dneice's nickname. :)

Other names:

Cecily
Alice
Frances
Megan

BetterWithCheese · 05/02/2014 16:48

Actually I think it's Laura-lie or at least it is on Gilmore Girls.

BetterWithCheese · 05/02/2014 16:47

Anya
Ivy
Imogen
Lila

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 16:44

hold on, Lorelei - is this Laurel-ee or Laur-ay-lee?

MrsRV · 05/02/2014 16:43

Ruby used to be our absolute fave. until we learnt of a few Ellie & Ruby sister combos locally... and for DH, until a Ruby made quite a meal of DD's face with her nails Shock

now, Loreili I love. not sure if I can spell it!!! :-) Hubby will hate it as its just too different.

Molly is a dog in the family. No go.

Heathcliff27 · 05/02/2014 16:40

How about Grace?

pilates · 05/02/2014 16:39

All lovely names, except Brooke.

Think Ruby would sound good with Ella.

How about Violet?

scoobysu · 05/02/2014 16:25

From your list I love Ruby and think Ella and Ruby make very cute sibling names. How about...

Ivy (love this and wish I could use it)
Molly (personally prefer this to Holly)
Daisy or Maisie (may not work with surname)
Imogen
