This is kind of along the lines of the unusual names thread, so sorry if it's too similar, but I was surprised to search for a name on mumsnet and found it had not been mentioned on any Baby Names thread. I thought most probably had at least once! So, I am going to correct this now - the name is Hyla (boy). Anyone else have one?

squoosh I know a Bruno in his 20s

Barry is just Barry as far as I'm aware.

In 30 years time our grandsons will be called Barry and we'll have to put on our best 'oh that's lovely dear' face whilst inwardly 'shrieking why God, why??????'

DawnOfTheDee · 06/02/2014 13:49

I think there will be a Barry revival. I've heard two separate people in RL mention it.....ok, they did it in a jokey way but i think they secretly liked it. I want there to be a Barry revival. Unsure why. Grin

Btw....wtf is Barry short for....?

NotAnotherPackedLunchBox · 06/02/2014 13:45

Doreen, Eileen, Noreen, Arlene, Aileen and Maureen don't get mentioned.

If MumsNet had been around 70 years ago they would be right up there though. Grin

BlueChampagne · 06/02/2014 13:36

Gemma and Justin rarely feature.

ToffeeJungle · 06/02/2014 12:20

I second Kim - was thinking you don't hear Kimberley much these days.

Gillian
Adele (though this might have become popular recently but it doesn't seem to have)
Angela
Andrea
Colette

Neil
Barry
Terence
Trevor
Wayne

JabberJabberJay · 06/02/2014 10:50

Stewart
Colin

Can't recall either of them being mentioned here recently.

Pigeonhouse · 06/02/2014 10:46

There was a midwife on a news segment about FGM last night who had the wonderful name of Comfort Mohmoh.

Justice isn't any odder than other 'virtue' names like Prudence, Charity, Mercy, Clemency.

WhenDoISleep · 06/02/2014 09:17

Rollo

WhenDoISleep · 06/02/2014 09:17

Hadley
Killian
John

IHaveSeenMyHat · 06/02/2014 09:15

There's a little girl called Justice on the CBeebies "Time For School" programme. Poor kid.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 06/02/2014 09:01

Kim rarely gets a mention.

Hyla is a new one on me.

MauriceMinor · 06/02/2014 02:28

Christine. You never hear Christine anymore.

AuntieStella · 05/02/2014 21:34

Daphne is Forces slang for useless female upperclass twit (counterpart of Rupert). That'll probably make it unlikely there would be much of a revival.

vitaminC · 05/02/2014 21:31

Hedley. It was my great grandad's name and I think it's a great name. I have girls, but no boys, so never got to use it, but I hope somebody does, eventually Grin

AllDirections · 05/02/2014 21:28

I met a little Justice once

DaddysBigTummy · 05/02/2014 21:24

One of my DD's is called Nicole, she is 6. The only other one I know is 14. In most recent Mother and Baby magazine one of the baby models is called Butterfly, never heard that one before!

YoHoHoandabottleofWine · 05/02/2014 21:13

Matthew. No one ever mentions Matthew.

ScrambledSmegs · 05/02/2014 13:12

Justice Grin

That reminds me of Eagle vs Shark. "Tell him Justice is coming for him" man other end of phone -"Ok Justin".

ToffeeJungle · 05/02/2014 13:08

Argh! I was trying to say Justine - not seen it on baby name threads despite MN co-founder being one...

Though I guess you don't often see Justice either?!
