Due at the start of June so have 4 months to go... Lots of time still!

This is our first and we haven't found out the gender.

Boys names we like are:
Alexander
Zachary
Lucas
Sebastian
Frederick

Girls names are:
Francesca
Silvia
Juliet
Vivienne

What are your faves? Any other suggestions?
We might have some favourites on these lists but could do with some more suggestions/ideas too!

Thanks Smile

I have a Sylvia and I love her name. Go with Silvia, it's easily the best Wink. I like Frederick most from your boy's names, nn Freddy.

Thebignamechange · 01/02/2014 09:56

Love love love your girls list :) all lovely and underused IMO
Not mad on your boys list they are all ok but nothing stands out-
Adding Albert, Rafe and Roman as suggestions

adaloveslace · 01/02/2014 09:56

(I like your boys names too but know a couple of each - I have two other DC - so find it hard to be that objective about them. Alexander's a good, strong name though.)

adaloveslace · 01/02/2014 09:53

Gilly, I love all your girls names. Francesca is fabulous but I worry about the Pope link making it very popular. Juliet is a long standing favourite of mine and probably my favourite on your list (can't use it as a close friend has.) Silvie and Silvia are both lovely and I have a soft spot for Vivienne. You can't go wrong with any of them (but do use Juliet!)

I dropped off the June board (found it tricky to keep up) but hope everything's going great for you.

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:52

Amelie is becoming very common anyway I think

And I'm not keen on Florence incase people called her flo!

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:50

My oh also did not like Eloise or elodie but I think his issue is liking familiar names that's he's sure how to spell and pronounce

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:50

Ah light...Penelope is another one we can't really use as we actually know 2 Penelopes now actually!

Florence and Amelie are also NOT really options which is a shame because I love them. Argh!

Elizabeth and Eloise were on our list.

Elizabeth is still kind of in my own mental list Smile

but I think Eloise is now officially off completely as DH just says NO NO NO whenever I've said it Grin

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:44

Oh Oscar is lovely I know you can't use it but it is lovely dd would of been an oscar

I had Elodie on my list too, also quite like Eloise

LightTheLittleLight · 01/02/2014 08:43

We also had Elizabeth, Felicity and Penelope on our list - not to everyone's taste, I know, but to me they seem to have a similar feel to your girls list?

I'm going to go against the grain and say I'm not keen on Lucas. Like Alexander and Zachary though.

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:43

Thanks mrs Smile

Thanks sunny!

Francesca bring shortened to Fran is the only thing that puts me off (sorry to any frans!) but I can be the parent that says "her names Francesca! Not Fran!" Grin

My dad constantly did that with people shortening my name when I was younger. Actually he still does!

Juliet or Silvia for a girl. Smile

I liked all of your girls names, by the way.

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:39

Oh and I love Scarlett but DH doesn't like it at all.
And I also really love Sophia but we have little girl called Sophia close to the family so that's a no too Sad

Names we can't use are....
Amelia
Finn
Ryan
Max
Henry
Arthur
Oscar
Charlotte
Sophia
Felicity
Ellen

Would quite like something classic but not commonly used.....

Ah this is tricky business! Grin

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:39

The bit that puts me off Francesca is being shortened to Fran

Spottybra · 01/02/2014 08:38

Love your boys names. They were on my list. I'd probably pick Juliet from your girls list, but only because a friend already has a Francesca.

Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:38

Ah well you don't want your baby reminding you of her then eh!

Sunnysummer · 01/02/2014 08:37

Oops, this is the right link!

Sunnysummer · 01/02/2014 08:36

I like all your boys names! Frederick is always great as it feels like it has nicknames suitable for whatever type of person he grows up to be Smile Zachary and Lucas are really nice but would be lower down my list as there are a ton of both of them at playgroups down my way.

Also less keen on your girl names, although I love Francesca nn Chess. Claudia has been a bit popular around mn recently, and has a similar feel to your list, perhaps? There's a 'girly girl' name list http://nameberry.com/list/35/Girly-Girl-Baby-Names that may have some to your liking!

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:35

Ivy is nice .....but we know an ivy and she's an old hag Grin

OP posts:
Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:35

I also had Scarlett on my girls list but someone said it sounds "hard" and it put me off

I also had -
Sofia
Paisley
Lola
Lacy

On my list but I don't think those are to your taste!

GreenCurlyTeeth · 01/02/2014 08:35

I love all your boys names.

My DD is Francesca so obviously I love that name! Funnily enough she often tells me she wishes I had called her Juliette, which I think is a beautiful name.
Not so keen on Vivienne but I like Silvia

Smile
GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:34

Silvia is really growing on me.... Hence it's still on the list. Would probably shorten to silvie but I like Silvia as the "official" name.

OP posts:
Mumof3xx · 01/02/2014 08:33

I like ivy for a girl how about that? It seems in generation with some of the ones you listed?

GillyBillyWilly · 01/02/2014 08:33

Absent, I love Darcy however a colleague of mine just had a boy and called him Darcy (I always see it as a girls name!!!!) so that's put me off Sad
