Gabriel or Alexander?

Ok, so we're down to the final two and I'm swinging from one to the other. Which is it to be and why?!

We were torn between Gabriel and Alexander too! Asked plenty of people & a majority liked Alexander. We went for Alexander as it sounds strong & powerful. Gabriel sounds a little light and girly. Also Alexander can be shortened to a few other names. Choices Choices.

Alexander all the way!

PS. My Alexander is naughty but that makes him all the more popular the little monkey : )

Gabriel will date . It's nice, but there are lots emerging.

Alexander is classic and more flexible.

But why not both?

Alexander Gabriel, Gabriel Alexander.

Then he can choose if he hates one.

I have one of the other and regret giving him that name (it's the third one we tried out on him, nothing seems to suit him, so it might be him, not the name)

I am advised that all Alexanders are naughty.
(I don't believe this poppycock at all, but I have been told this by mothers of Alexanders, and I wanted an argument that was pro-Gabriel other than I just like it. Also, DH didn't like it, and it was one of my favourites.)

Gabriel. I heard the name on tv the other night and just loved it.
I actually like them both but I know other Alexander's but no other Gabriel.

I prefer Alexander, Gabriel sounds too feminine to my ear. Also think Alex is much nicer as a short version than Gabe. Completely irrational but I love Gabrielle or Gabriella for a girl.
