Boys' names - which combination?

We're expecting our first baby, a boy, in March and trying to whittle down the list but currently going around in circles! Which of these combinations works best or do we re-jig altogether?!

Alexander Gabriel
Max Benjamin
Gabriel Alexander
Sebastian James

James Alexander is nice (but not one of your suggestions!)
Benjamin Alexander ok too

ilovepowerhoop · 27/01/2014 09:57

Alexander James not bad either

Mrsindecision · 27/01/2014 10:02

I like all the names on your list - can't go wrong with any of then imo. I particularly like James as a first name. In fact, the only one I would not use as a 1st name would be Alexander as I personally know so many, but that said, if it was my favourite, I wouldn't let that put me off! Not much help am I!

James Alexander would have been on the list too if it was only up to me but DH won't allow. It'd be a 'compromise' for him even using it as a middle name. Shame as I love it.

Sebastian James is nice. Some of the others with two three-syllable names might be a bit long? Just a thought.

UriGeller · 27/01/2014 11:47

Alexander Gabriel is lovely and a very strong name . My Alex has a 3 syllable middle name. To be honest, after the first year you'll never say both their names unless its for a form.

newyearhere · 28/01/2014 08:49

Alexander Gabriel

Keepthechangeyoufilthyanimal · 28/01/2014 08:53

I like the combos of:
Gabriel Alexander
Sebastian James
best - in that order. Lots of lovely names in there! though depends on your surname as (other than Max) they are all quite long names.

Nataleejah · 28/01/2014 12:18

Gabriel Alrexander or Alexander Gabriel

BlueStarsAtNight · 28/01/2014 12:43

I like Sebastian James best. Less keen on Gabriel, and Alexander is ok but lots of them! Max Benjamin is nice, but feels like the Max gets a little lost!

What's your surname like?

NewtRipley · 28/01/2014 18:29

Alexander Gabriel

chocolateandbroccoli · 28/01/2014 21:12

Surname is two syllables. I think I like Gabriel but it feels like the braver choice for some reason.

As a first name that is.
