Help me find a boys name...

I am going to be really fussy, dismissive for ridiculous reasons and probably sound like an arse on this thread. But I am really stuck. We've had a girls name set for a few months and I am still happy with it. But the boys name.. we keep going off them.

I need help.

I don't want anything common, in both senses of the word.

Our list thus far has been:
Jackson
Deacon
Brodie
Caleb

And I liked them all at first, and now I hate them. I think they sound chavvy. I have a DS with a top 10 name and thankfully he goes by a lesser used NN anyway, but still, I don't want to repeat that. He's one of 4 in his year.

HELP!

I can't believe Isobel is your girls name. I am disappointed OP.

I don't think you were being rude, annoying but likeable maybe! I have seen people be incredibly rude and nasty on baby names threads and nobody bats an eyelid.

Juno77 · 22/01/2014 21:08

I do like Rowan.. But, I have a female friend called Rowan. Calling a little boy the same name would be weird for me.

ep-it might be easier to lose a friend than find a boy's name you like!

Sleepyhead33 · 22/01/2014 21:04

do you not like Rowan? It is a name I really hanker after and wish I had called my DS (Cillian)

HeeHiles · 22/01/2014 21:01

Well just de-friend her then Wink

Juno77 · 22/01/2014 20:59

I really hope so!

I don't know what my aversion is to boys names. It's really frustrating.

I do like Rudy! But a friend recently had twins and called one Rudy..

As in it will be easier for your sake

Sleepyhead33 · 22/01/2014 20:58

Isobel is lovely. Let's hope you have a girl then!

Juno77 · 22/01/2014 20:58

Isobel wasn't top 100 in England last year either.

HeeHiles · 22/01/2014 20:58

Rudy is my favourite boys name - but I didn't have any boys so if you like it you can have it! I knew a Rudy in my childhood and have never met another!

mum2bubble · 22/01/2014 20:57

what about nordic names?

Juno77 · 22/01/2014 20:57

Okay Santana, that's fair enough. I've obviously touched a nerve and I apologise for causing offence.

I personally view certain names that way. Not sure why anyone would care that much, but that's how I feel. Andi shared that in the interests of not wasting people's time posting names I wasn't going to like.

Again, I'm sorry for causing offence.

sock possibly in England, no idea. Not here anyway. Like I said, only 33 born last year.

We won't move to another country Grin

People are trying to help, you don't need to describe things as awful, chavvy, schemie and the various other delightful terms you've used.

LuisSuarezTeeth · 22/01/2014 20:53

Chavvy is as Chavvy does, OP.

Bernard?
Barrington?

IneedAsockamnesty · 22/01/2014 20:50

Is Isobel not a top 10?

What if you move

Juno77 · 22/01/2014 20:47

santana why do I sound rude? Genuine question.

I asked for suggestions, I don't like some. I've explained why. I apologise if that's rude - I didn't realise MN was a place for social niceties!

I wouldn't say 'I don't like that name' in real life. But this is an Internet forum. I've seen a lot worse!

OP posts:
Juno77 · 22/01/2014 20:45

I don't really like any of the classic boys names though, and herein lies my problem..

Isobel isn't very popular here. Isn't in the top 100 - in fact only 33 registered last year.

OP posts:
SantanaLopez · 22/01/2014 20:45

Isobel? That's incredibly popular Confused

You do sound really rude btw.

Viviennemary · 22/01/2014 20:37

I think you are right to reject all the names you listed in your first post. They are all totally dire. Just go for a good classic name and you can't go wrong. IMHO.

ToffeeJungle · 22/01/2014 20:37

Isobel is pretty - quite popular though which was a reason for discounting some of the suggested boys names...

Of the Isobel's I know their male siblings are Benjamin, Zac and James.
