Our shortlist keeps getting longer, opinions...

I'm 29 weeks with dc3 and we haven't found out what sex were having so we have a boys and girls shortlist. Problem is the shortlists keep getting longer, especially the girls one. We have 2 boys already so it's been easier in a way with boys names as we know what we like. So opinions welcome on our current lists.

Morgan
Gideon
Saul (really not sure about this one)

Girls

Jocelyn
Edith
Maisie
Cassidy nn Cassie
Violet
Evelyn nn Evie (possibly too popular now, it was my girls choice with ds1)

Were not certain about any name so any other suggestions welcome too!

LOVE Tristan and Gideon. Really dislike Saul and Morgan and Cassius.

Love Violet, Evelyn and Cassie (but dislike Cassidy). Really don't like Athena.

I had the worry that Cassidy wouldn't be liked that much so it's nice to hear other people saying they like it!

I really like Reuben but unfortunately we can't use it because of family. I'm not sure about Quentin or Cassius, I like Cassius more I think. I'll add them to the list and see what DH thinks. For some reason Cassius has reminded me of another choice my DH has always liked which is Gaius. I've just never been able to bring myself to use it, I feel like it borders just too far on the unusual side for me and that if you choose unusual you have to be absolutely certain to deal with any negative judgement.

Really like Athena and Cassidy!

For boys I like Marcus, Tobias and Gideon. Tristan is too sad (triste). How about Quentin, Reuben or Cassius?

For the boys I really like Tobias and Tristan, not to keen on the rest, for the girls I like Cassidy and Elodie, though I don't mind the others apart from Athena

minipie - That was my thoughts on Marcus, the only way to shorten it really is to Marc/Mark. It's a name DH has suggested each time but I've always felt it was a bit formal. Tobias is my favorite and I love the nn Toby but Dh really isn't sure. Cecily was on my list of girls names but my Mum ends up saying Sicily and again DH wasn't sure on it.

I think Cassidy could work well as we chose a name for ds1 which is not commonly heard over here (bordering on unusual) but a fairly normal name in the US.

Marcus - not bad, a bit formal and I can't think of a nn
Tobias - I really like this
Tristan - it's ok
Morgan - good middle name, I wouldn't use for a first name though
Gideon - I really like this. Unusual but established.
Saul (really not sure about this one) - don't like it

Jocelyn - I really like this
Edith - Really don't like (Edie is lovely but Edith is frumpy to me)
Maisie - Sweet but not for an adult.
Cassidy nn Cassie - Bit American, but quite like it
Violet - I think of the spoilt child in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
How about Viola?
Evelyn nn Evie (possibly too popular now, it was my girls choice with ds1) - I like it, but it is very popular
Elodie - Bit too "on trend"
Athena - Poster shop
Heidi - Bit too Swiss!

I only really like Saul from your boys list.
I'm not keen on Heidi. Elodie or Evelyn are my favourites, but as a list I like most of the girls names.
